The vocalist of Cradle of Flith, Daniel 'Dani Filth' says he does not believe Slayer will be holding a farewell tour in May. In an interview with Metal Mammoth TV, he believes the tour is just a "mode to boost their album sales".
Filth admits he does not believe Slayer will retire after this tour ends.
"I used to believe Ozzy Osbourne when he held a farewell tour in 1992. I think Scorpions and Accept have also done a tour like this. We will see later. You see, a lot of musicians will come back if they get a lucrative offer. Perhaps, by announcing a farewell tour like this is their way to boost sales of the album, "said Dani Filth.
"I hope this is not their tour, it would be sad if this is true. It's like the case of Glenn Danzig (and The Misfits), 'Am I comfortable and need to do this tour?'
"Maybe their financial condition is safe enough so they can retire. Their pay is big enough, I think they'll be fine, "said Filth.
Some speculation has surrounded this news like Ayesha, wife of Kerry King, who claims her husband will keep releasing new music or albums. While Dave Mustaine said he wanted to stage a 'Big Three' tour with Slayer and Anthrax.
Recently, Tom Araya, Kerry King, Paul Bostaph and Gary Holt announce a global farewell tour plan in mid 2018. The tour will also feature Anthrax, Lamb Of God, Behemoth and Testament.
